A week or so passed, where I was regularly restarting and putting the laptop to sleep. tab) from its settings, as advised by JesusBeardo in the comments. Are there any more ideas for troubleshooting?Īfter regularly using the device with an external keyboard and the AWCC uninstalled, I decided to reinstall it and disable the Alien FX API (under the Misc. If anyone has seen something like that before, his help would be greatly appreciated. I would like to try and avoid that if possible. I've read similar threads that address the same issue and recommend a clean windows installation, which most of the times does not seem to work. I also tried the system recovery feature, but it was not able to be successfully completed. The "FUSION" tab won't load either and when I am at the AWCC homescreen some fields load endlessly, no matter how much I wait (screenshot below).īooting into safe mode did not work either. Meaning that there was not an option to change the color for the keyboard (screenshot below). Once I uninstalled the Alienware Command Center and reinstalled it, the RGB lighting came back on, but no keyboard was detected.

Therefore, I think it has to be an issue with the windows installation or update. I also tried booting into the bios, where the integrated keyboard also worked just fine. I have been using my laptop with an external keyboard which works just fine. The day before that, I installed a windows update, which I've deleted now but it did not fix my problem. I know the first thought would be to contact Dell and ask for a repair, however I bought the laptop in the US and have now moved abroad. Yesterday however, when I booted up my laptop, the keyboard RGB lighting was turned off and once I got to the windows log in screen, the keyboard was unresponsive. I got an alienware m15 r2 on August and have had no problems so far.
